Women to Match Our Mountains Awards
held in Asheville, NC

NC Supreme Court Justice Robin Hudson gave a stunning presentation
entitled "Women and the Courts...Supreme Decisions"
She told of a conservative, patriarchal father who demanded that she
attend an all girls college and was adamantly opposed when she went
applied and was accepted to Harvard instead. Later she came back to
UNC-Chapel Hill and finished a law degree and over the years has moved
up through the ranks in the NC Judicial system, getting elected as a NC
Supreme Court Justice in the 2006 election. Robin's testimony
reminds us all that the small decisions we make every day end up
determining who and what we become, and that it is important to follow
our own dreams.
